The best mulled wine, far and wide.
The ambience is very nice, but the waiters could have been a little more motivated. We were almost the only ones and still had to wait a relatively long time for someone to come. The food was delicious, but not necessarily something special.
A real insider tip from a culinary point of view and, despite its prominent location, anything but a tourist trap. The friendly staff is very warm and the home-style classics on the modern menu are more than worth the money. Apart from the fact that the portions are generous, you quickly notice that the finest meat quality has been selected and that the chef really has something on the box. I had once onion roast and once had ribs cooked for 24 hours and both times it was amazingly aromatic. We eat a lot in Regensburg and I claim that for the prices you can hardly get anything better in the "home-style" category. Absolute recommendation!
Super delicious food (pork knuckle with roasted potatoes and sauerkraut in a beer sauce) !!! The meat was super tender and all in all the food was simply a pleasure! The location itself is very cozy, simply beautiful! The service on that day (October 31, 2020, around 1 p.m.) was simply great! Very friendly, courteous, attentive and yet not fake! It couldn't be better! The owner of the "Krauterer" can count himself lucky !! The next time we're back in Regensburg, we'll definitely be back here !! I can only recommend this place!
Very nice cafe right across from the cathedral. Delicious cocoa :)
Food was delicious, short waiting times and the staff was very courteous, attentive and nice! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and everything is super clean and well-kept. I'm excited!
Has been here several times now. Always good. Super Service:) The Bavarian tapas (available on request) are a dream 👍
The food was delicious. The service was very attentive and great. I am often in Regensburg and will be happy to come back!
Good cake, very good coffee and friendly service.
Bavarian cuisine par excellence! Last night we went to the Krauterer am Dom. We were neither there on a recommendation nor did we actively look for a restaurant on the Internet, but strolled along the cathedral and decided on the Krauterer because of the great impression when peering into the restaurant. In terms of ambience, it is somewhere between the restaurant and the inn, but this has not detracted from the comfort. Only the light could have been a little less bright, then the candle on our table would have come into its own. In terms of food, the menu has quite a few classics of Bavarian cuisine. We wavered between roast pork, schnitzel and farmer's gröstl. The Munich schnitzel also sounded very interesting. When we described our dilemma of not being able to make a choice to the friendly wait staff, she recommended the tapas platter from the menu of the day and hit the mark with us. In addition to roast pork and schnitzel, there was also veal sausages, goat cheese, pumpkin soup, small potato pancakes with salmon and and and ... The tapas platter is like a little journey through the world of Bavarian delicacies and we liked it very much and tasted it. All in all, we felt totally at home in the Krauterer am Dom and left the restaurant full of pills and happy. Thank you for the lovely evening!! Greetings from Berlin
Regensburg on October 3rd, 2020 around 6:00 p.m. local time. We had the feeling that the waitress wanted to clear us up quickly. We hadn't even sat down, he wanted our order. When asked about the map, he rolled his eyes and looked annoyed. On the way out we politely said goodbye and didn't even get a look from the staff chatting at the door. Staying at the Kräuterer Speisehaus was definitely a wrong decision. Only the location at the cathedral is positive. Although this is not a quality feature either. Conclusion: not recommended
Really tasty and juicy Zwiebelrostbraten. The meat was super soft, almost melting.
Food reasonable, but when it came to service we thought it was a hideout camera. Wrong drink, asked several times we want to eat, a dish wasn't served 10 minutes after the other meals were there. Then a salad that was not ordered. After we paid and were about to leave, we were asked if we wanted a schnapps, we thought from the house. But it wasn't from the house after all, we had to pay for it.
I've never had to eat spare ribs with a knife and fork, but in the Krauterer they are so ingeniously tender and juicy that the meat REALLY falls off the bone! Hammer! 😀
Good, attentive and friendly service ... top location with a highlight view of the cathedral ... excellent coffee
We wanted to order a warm meal here around 7:30 p.m. Almost all dishes on the menu were no longer available. (Caution: there are two menus here - not every menu contains all dishes (price trap). Not only we returned half-full plates because some of them were very greasy and had a high proportion of ready-made dishes, although the waiter's information was different. positive: dissatisfied guests get a fruit schnapps to make up!
Food very good - pork fillet to the point! Atmosphere a bit uncomfortable because very empty. Radio music too loud - but turned down on request
Quick friendly service, moderate prices
We made reservations the day before yesterday at 5 p.m. and were immediately taken to our seat. The service was very nice and took great care of us. The food was delicious. There was something for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. Overall just great restaurant. I can only recommend it!!
As we visited this place to have a meal after a long car ride we were really hungry. We sat down at 16:30 and ordered our drinks. Once we received our drinks the service told us that they didn’t serve food until 30minutes later. We were mad because they gave us a menu and there’s nowhere written that the kitchen is closed from 16:00 to 17:00 o’clock. Service was Kind but all together we were very disappointed.
It was our first time in the herb plant. We got a voucher in our voucher book on a warm summer Sunday evening. We had reserved at 6.30pm, but happened to be there an hour earlier. The staff seemed visibly relieved, because they were already locking all the tables outside and rejecting potential guests in rows ("kitchen has already closed"). So we wondered why our reservation was accepted at all ... The card was very appealing, unfortunately we were told when ordering that at least half of the dishes were out. So we decided on the backup option - Schnitzel. My partner ordered with a side salad, I with potatoes - we both got the potato version. The schnitzel wasn't thick enough yet and somehow everything felt like leftovers that should go as quickly as possible. Although mentioned 2-3 times, when you cashed in you finally forgot to calculate the "voucher book bonus". Except for the nice young waiter, the visit to the herb shop was, contrary to expectations, a complete "hold on the toilet". Too bad - but Regensburg certainly offers some better alternatives.
I have to award a star ... Our two (different) meals were burned, the staff not on the ball, overall the visit was a disappointment and no reason to repeat. There are tons of much better restaurants in Regensburg.
Everything impeccable. Nice to sit outdoors with a view of the cathedral. Food and drinks top. We recommend.
Lovely atmosphere. Coffee was great and the moon cake too
Only there for coffee and cake in mid January, so difficult to experience the true ambience. We were the only 4 people there.
Nice local food. One star minus because we had to go back the next day for the dessert. Kitchen already closed when we finished the main course. I could imagine that they ask asked us on time if we'd like something else.
Nice place for a cup of coffee overlooking St Peter's cathedral in front. Totally enjoyed the alfresco sitting watching the world went by while drinking my coffee. Nice and cheerful staff who were able to converse to me in English. Awesome!!
Tried the German schweinshaxe and beer. The food and service are great. Promised the staff will back again, unfortunate there are too many nice restaurant in Regensburg, maybe next time when return back to this beautiful city.
A good place to relax and chill while watching people walk around. And of course, great coffee!
The food is pretty good. Fingernudeln are a good portion and very tasty. Service is very kind too.
